EOG's ended last week and the pressure that they put on the kids was crazy! I understand that it is a statewide standard that they are trying to meet, but for the 5th graders it directly affects where they get placed in 6th grade. What if you have an off day, or week for that matter?
Jordan studied like a maniac, and he was excited to hear that we didn't get a phone call from the school on Tuesday - evidently a phone call from the school that day indicates that your child failed a portion of the EOG and would have to take it again! He passed, thank the Lord, but it was definitely a test of our patience and will power - proper bed times, eating right, the works.
To make matters worse, he had a volcano to build along with a detailed journal of how it came into existance, as well as a Koala diarama and report for Madison. What happened to the fun and games? The volcano was delievered today, and the Koala will be turned in next week! Woo Hoo!
