Madison has forever been a good eater, and as she grows older she talks of her dream of being a Pastry Chef like Duff Goldman, of the Food Network's Ace of Cakes. She watches the FN with us all the time and has recently started to ask to help to cook. While I am not a huge fan of her weilding a knife, Jim (culinary school grad and amazing chef) has more courage in that department. He has showed her how to cut properly.
Lately, whenever we are making something, she wants to pretend we are taping a show on the Food Network. I am her plebe....er, trusty assistant, that she calls "Truster" on the show :) She and Jim have a "D&D in the Kitchen" which stands for Daddy Daughter. Our show is "All Girls in the Kitchen". It is truly remarkable how she has the imagination to chat with the fake cameras, tells the audience (consisting of our 2 cats) that it is time for a commercial break and make some pretty incredible dishes. She even has us play a game at home...which she saw on Hell's Kitchen....where everyone tastes the food and they have to guess the ingredients that are in it....she often wins with obscure ingredients!
The Next Food Network Star premieres this Sunday on the FN channel......we'll be watching, will you?
