Where are they going exactly?

Having a middle schooler means lots of new adventures for both the child and the parent. The obsession of boys and girls "going out" seems to peak now, instead of in early high school like I remember it. Everyone wants to know "who's going out" and "what's going on". My question is always, "you are 12, where exactly are you going?"

Jordan had thus far managed to stay out of this pool of kids, until recently.......when he asked his friend Lauren to "go out"! Honestly, she is the nicest of girls he could have picked for his first girlfriend, so no sweat. There is just sooooo much conversation that needs to go on about the do's/don'ts/don't do what I did - it would blow.your.mind! Thankfully for J&L it appears that their "title" is just that. Our families are great friends, and we hang out all the time. We have already informed both of them that even when they no longer carry this "title", we will still be hanging out....so to remember that friendship comes 1st!

It is a blessing to have a child that will talk about everything with you, and it helps to know that he isn't one of those guys.....and trust me, with parents like us and the past that we've had, respect and honor are at the forefront of every conversation. Here's a little snapshot I sneaked of them this past weekend at a party.
